Installation Methods: SIPs & Electrical

Premier SIPs have standard horizontal chases pre-cut at 16 and 45 inches off the floor. There is also a vertical chase spaced every four feet. For quick chase access, simply drill access holes through the top and bottom plates so your electrician will not have to drill into studs (like other dimensional lumber framing techniques).

• Layout all electrical power and switch locations in the exterior walls.
• Cut away interior OSB to the size of your electrical box.
• Scoop out EPS foam to fit the electrical box.
• Install electrical box into the panel and screw to the OSB. Use a remodelers box with tabs that you can screw into the OSB skins.
• Push or pull electrical conductors through pre-drilled electrical chases to the box location and rough-in.
